‘THE SUNS’ TRADE RUMORS: Zach Lowe Dispels Rumors About Potential Trade Of ‘Star Guard’ From Phoenix Suns, Urging Fans In The Desert To Rest Easy.

Rumors circulated that star player Devin Booker was intent on joining the New York Knicks as he and the Phoenix Suns were wrapping off a disastrous season.

The Suns’ expectations for the big three of Booker, Durant, and Bradley Beal were not always met. The eventual outcome was head coach Frank Vogel being dismissed and the Minnesota Timberwolves winning the first round.

We’re learning a little more about Booker and his future with the Suns now that Mike Budenholzer is the new head coach in Phoenix.

You can relax in the desert, fans. Booker has no intention of asking for a move anytime soon.

Zach Lowe of ESPN wrote on Monday, “I continue to hear that there is no Devin Booker, like, trade request coming.”

This is consistent with Suns owner Mat Ishbia’s statement that the team wants to keep the main three players after Phoenix was ousted from the playoffs.

Devin Booker will stay with the Suns

Booker, 27, is currently participating in the 2027–2028 season as part of a four-year, $221.09 million contract. He’s going to stay in Phoenix for the foreseeable future unless the star asks to be traded.

Booker averaged 27.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game in the previous campaign. He made 49% of his field goals, of which 36% came from three-point range.

The bigger concern for Phoenix is what will happen to Kevin Durant when he leaves the Suns. Due to his turbulent 2023–24 season, there has been conjecture that the two-time NBA Finals MVP will really want to be traded. He’s been connected to the Golden State Warriors, his previous team.

In any case, don’t expect Booker to push his way back east. Lowe’s report effectively disproves the theory.
