Despite The Tractor Boys’ victory over The Whites, Ipswich Town striker Sam Morsy has identified a Leeds United player as the most difficult opponent he has played this season.
Leeds was forced into four losses in their final six league games as Daniel Farke’s team buckled under the pressure from Ipswich’s relentless efforts to win Championship games.
Leeds’ miserable season finale deprived them the opportunity to finish second behind Leicester City. However, Leeds might still play Ipswich if they can complete the task at Elland Road on Thursday.
Leeds has a slim lead heading into the second leg later this week after their 0-0 draw against Norwich, Ipswich’s rivals, on Sunday. The Whites now have home advantage for a trip to Wembley.
Before the game, a fan asked Ipswich’s Morsy who he thought would be his hardest opponent to face in the 2023–24 campaign. In response, he named one key Leeds player.

Since Summerville won Leeds’ Player of the Season award this season, it should come as no surprise that the Egypt international named Summerville as the hardest player he faced.
Leeds has a chance to return to the Premier League right away thanks to a whopping 30 goals and assists, but other major teams are also interested in signing Leeds, with Tottenham and Newcastle reportedly eyeing a £38 million deal.
Summerville’s play declined at the end of the season, and he didn’t contribute much in the most recent game, but you can bet he will have a say if Leeds secure a spot at Wembley and advance.

Everything is dependent on that word that starts with P. It would be a tremendous accomplishment and would entice Summerville to stay if Leeds could secure promotion at the conclusion of such a turbulent season.
Even so, teams like Liverpool and Aston Villa are showing interest in the Dutch winger. The former captain of Leeds, Stephen Warnock, believes it would be difficult to decline a transfer to Unai Emery’s Villa team.
In the coming weeks and months, everything will become clear, but for now, Summerville’s main priority is assisting Leeds in getting promoted; if he succeeds, Leeds will have a strong chance of keeping him.
